Auto Maintenance
Tips

Proper maintenance of your car can help to improve its performance on the road and avoid accidents.

Follow these tips to ensure that your vehicle is in proper working condition at all times while you are on the road:

  • Use a trained, qualified mechanic.
  • Check all lights and horns.
  • Change the oil and oil filter regularly.
  • Check all the fluids. (This includes brake, power steering, transmission and windshield washer.)
  • Check the air pressure level in your tires at least once a month.
  • Make sure all your lights work. (This includes headlights, indicators, brake lights and taillights.)
  • Replace the windshield wiper blades periodically. (If your wiper blades are cracked or torn, or if they begin to streak, it’s time to replace them.)
  • Inspect the engine belts. (They should not have cracks or missing segments.)
  • Check the air filter. (The filter should be clean, not clogged or damaged.)
  • Ensure your tires are balanced and don’t need rotating. (The front and rear of your car differs in weight, so to ensure even wear and tear, you need to rotate your tires ever so often, depending on car usage.)
  • To ensure maximum usage of your tires, make sure that they are aligned.
  • Check / clean battery terminals. (Clean battery terminals regularly as corrosion at battery terminals might prevent the car from starting.)
  • Inspect / replace brake pads.
  • Check and refill engine coolant.
  • Flush radiators.
  • Inspect / replace spark plugs.
  • Clean and adjust throttle body
