International Literacy Day Celebrations

In celebration of International Literacy Day 2023, TRINRE Insurance partnered with the National Library and Information System Authority (Nalis) and the Office of the Prime Minster -Communications as they hosted interactive reading sessions for primary school students across the country.

This year’s theme, “Promoting Literacy for a World in Transition: Building the Foundation for Sustainable and Peaceful Societies” emphasized the importance of literacy and education as building blocks for personal and national development.

Readings were conducted by various Members of Parliament, police officers, library staff and other prominent members of the community at the following libraries:

  • Arima Public Library
  • Beetham Gardens Community Library
  • Couva Public Library
  • Maloney Public Library
  • Point Fortin Public Library
  • Port of Spain Children’s Library
  • Princes Town Public Library
  • Rio Claro Public Library
  • San Fernando West Indian Reference Library
  • Scarborough Library Facility
  • Helena Public Library

 

Mr. Vinai Narace, TRINRE’s Marketing and Customer Experience Manager stated, “Literacy provides a foundation for learning and plays a significant role in shaping the future. We were happy to partner with Nalis as they continue to promote literacy and reading, particularly among our younger students.”
