TRINRE Foundation Launches “Celebrate Responsibly”.

“Celebrate Responsibly”, is a Safety Initiative which was launched by the TRINRE Foundation on January 25, 2016 at The SkyLoft on Edward Street, Port of Spain as part of TRINRE’s 40th Anniversary Celebrations.

Though commenced during the Carnival season, its message extends far beyond. According to Mrs Rani Lakhan-Narace, the company’s Executive Chairman, “as a responsible organization, we believe that “Responsibility is Everyone’s Business and in the country’s current economic and social circumstances we are prepared to do more.”  In this regard, the company intends to invest over $100,000 for this initiative and others.

Several partners are involved with TRINRE in the delivery of the “Celebrate Responsibly” campaign including the Jonathan Camacho Organization for Road Safety (JCORS) of which the Foundation has been a sponsor since 2012.  The President of JCORS, Mrs Tammy Otway-Camacho one of the evening’s presenters spoke of how the family of her late son Jonathan Camacho positively utilised their grief to make a difference.  JCORS are well known for their education and outreach programme including hosting of Sober Recovery Zones at which Breathalyser Testing is administered to patrons at various fetes and parties across the country.  She expressed her appreciation for TRINRE’s involvement not only as a sponsor but for the commitment the organisation in made by educating its own staff.

In delivering the feature address to the media, Mrs Lakhan-Narace spoke of the work which the TRINRE Foundation which started in 2010. The Foundation she said was started as an avenue to channel support for initiatives that are designed to educate, elevate and recognise leadership as well as to enhance the wellbeing of communities and all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.  To date some of its other projects have included its Flagship Award – The Spirit of Leadership Award, The Joy of Reading Programme and Christmas Cheer Initiative

The launch was attended by His Worship The Honourable Mayor of Port of Spain Mr Raymond Tim Kee, Dr Neil Singh, Head of UWI’s Health Services Unit, Mr Robert Alleyne, Managing Director of KPMG and several members of the media.
